As a member of Diabetes UK I have worked locally, regionally and nationally to successfully influence the development, implementation, evaluation and redesign of the health and social care services that people living with diabetes have a right to expect.
I am used to working in partnership and enjoy using my extensive networking skills to identify and solve real problems. I have worked in local government and been seconded into the voluntary sector to address, in a practical way, issues of health inequalities in County Durham. In this area I have extensive local experience of performance management.
I am a local parish councillor, sit on a diabetes local implementation team, am a Durham area Action Partnership forum member, belong to the Durham Health Forum and have only just been appointed as a Lay member to the Durham and Chester le Street practice based commissioning board.
I am very keen to work with others to help the Co Durham LINk transform into the even more challenging role of the local HealthWatch and build upon the excellent work of the last 2-3 years.
