Having been an active community representative within the Sedgefield Borough and my home town of Shildon, with the Durham County Council, a lay person speaking as a voice of my community, for at least twenty years, I believe that I am able to speak for the people of Sedgefield and the wider community on a variety of subjects that affect the communities today, including health and related social issues.
I am totally committed to and care very much about any issue that affects the care, well being and safety of the patient. I have been involved in several surveys and reports; I can be a team worker and have leadership skills.
Currently I am a member of North East Regional Safer Care Group, a member of the County Durham LINks Management, representing Sedgefield and the Integrated Care Organisation, Urgent Care Directorate for Bishop Auckland Hospital, working towards accreditation with the hospital as a NHS lay person.
I have been involved within the community in many roles including i.e. Treasurer of Jubilee Fields Community Centre, CAVOS. And I have been Chair of Shildon Community Safety Group for eleven years having been instrumental in forming the group.
