I have gained a wide and varied knowledge across the health and social care agenda. I originally was involved with the mental health day services in Derwentside area. Representing service users on issues as to the way services were being changed. This led me to become a member of the CWF. During this time I have experienced working alongside other agencies, including Durham PCT, DCC, CANVAS, NEMHDU, TEWV. This body of work has included communicating and networking with various social organisation, giving me a relevant awareness and understanding of a whole range of social issues. I am currently representing LINk in a Durham and Easington workshop to improve and develop the services received in the assessment process for people with mental health problems (Crisis Team and CHTT’s). I have also been involved in the local Time to Change (anti-stigma) campaign.
I consider myself a good communicator, with the ability to work with a wide range of people, and I have a desire to improve the way services are designed, commissioned and delivered across the social care agenda.
