Over the last eight years I have become involved in a variety of voluntary bodies, all with increasing responsibility and each one presenting new form of learning and understanding. A wide ranging career in the transport and tourism industries had already given me a good grounding in public expectation of statutory bodies, and also of the ability to communicate with many different people in order to try and fulfil expectations.
The successive principle organisations that I have worked with are:
All these organisations have needed consultation regarding what should be passed to the various umbrella meetings that I have attended on their behalf, as well as written and verbal reports on the results and a willingness to participate in hands on solutions, such as taking part in road shows for Mental Health Awareness Week or surveys on alcohol abuse for 12 Villages Network.
I feel that I have had some success serving my community and would like to extend and improve that success with the LINk management team in the challenges of providing a local health service.
